Welcome to get to know the people of Käpykolo and to make miniature objects at the free workshop during the winter holiday week!

In the workshop, Leena Parkkinen and Zagros Manuchar will introduce the audience to the world of Käpykolo. In the workshop, we will make miniature objects such as mini books and plants, as well as earrings. The workshop is in a non-stop format, you can join in crafting whenever you want during the event!

Käpykolo is a fairy tale book by visual artist Zagros Manuchar and writer Leena Parkkinen, dealing with blended families, multiculturalism, and ecological themes. In addition to the stories, the book features photographic illustrations. The squirrels in the book are made by felting and their home is built inside a 1960s television.

Recommended age: from preschoolers to all ages.

Languages: Finnish, English, Kurdish.

The objects made in the workshop can either be taken home immediately or left on display at the Salon Miniature World Exhibition, which will be held in March, and then they will be sent home by mail. The workshop will be held in the Laurinsali room located in the basement of the main library. The space is also accessible by elevator.

The workshop is organized by Salon Cultural Services and Library Services.
