Starting from Feb 7th Touch

A romantic and captivating story that spans decades and continents. Touch, directed by Baltasar Kormakur from Iceland’s top tier, follows one man’s journey as he searches for his first love, who disappeared 50 years ago – before his own time runs out.

Starting from Feb 21st Crossing

A Georgian seaside village. Lia, a retired teacher, wants to find her missing niece Tekla. A rough neighbor boy named Achi claims to know Tekla’s new address in Istanbul. The duo crosses the border and sails across the Bosphorus Strait to the timeless and incredible Istanbul, where the truth has many faces. Help is always found when the situation seems hopeless. CROSSING is an ode to human dignity and the diversity of Istanbul.

Starting from March 7th Tatami

Iranian judoka Leila (Arienne Mandi) and her coach Maryam (Zar Amir Ebrahimi) participate in the Judo World Championships with the goal of bringing home Iran’s first gold medal. During the championships, Leila is pressured to withdraw from the competition or be labeled a traitor to the country. At the risk of her own and her family’s freedom, Leila faces an impossible choice: to submit and withdraw from the competition as her coach commands, or fight for the gold medal.

Starting from March 21st Mother of Cranes

Finnish Ellen Vuosalo has lived in Iran for decades and has been given the name Mother of Cranes by the locals. But who is Ellen and what has made her live in Iran for over 55 years? Iiris Härmä’s film delves into the unique life of this incredible woman. It is a story of nature, humanity, and the role of women both in Western countries and in the midst of Iranian culture.

Starting from April 4th Memory

Sylvia (Jessica Chastain) leads a simple routine life, dividing her time between her daughter, work, and AA meetings. After a high school reunion, she is followed home by Saul (Peter Sarsgaard), who is suffering from early-stage dementia. ,

Their unexpected encounter opens doors to both the past and a radically different future. Memory is an intense and touching quality drama by top director Michel Franco.

From April 25th Different Summer Friends

Different Summer Friends is a charming French drama comedy about a father and son, a criminal duo, who have pulled off the heist of the century. While escaping the police, they end up in a surprising hiding place – a summer camp for disabled people – pretending to be a resident and his caregiver. This sets off an unexpected and eye-opening experience that permanently changes their lives.


Tickets for the films are 10 €.  Please note that the dates of the films and other screenings are the start dates of the film week (Friday). Screenings at Bio-Salo (Helsingintie 11), exact dates and times will be announced closer to the date on the website www.biosalo.fi. Changes possible.

Screenings at Bio-Salo, Helsingintie 11. Exact times will be announced closer to the date on the website www.biosalo.fi. Tickets for screenings are 20 € (including coffee during intermission).

Please note that series and gift tickets, as well as Leffapassi, are not valid for the opera and ballet series, but you can still get a stamp on your pass. Changes possible.
