Sweating Earth – Der Struwwelpeter inspired stories about our environment

Thu 28.8.2025 at 18:00 - 18:30
Horninpuisto

Puppet theater Kuuma Ankanpoikanen’s Sweating Earth is a comic-like outdoor children’s theater performance that is suitable for both three-year-olds and sixty-three-year-olds.

On stage, the bustling researchers rhyme (Pia Kalenius & Merja Pöyhönen), whose engaging presence and skillful puppetry bring out real, big questions from the undergrowth – and make the audience laugh out loud. Along the way, a delightful group of creatures and phenomena are encountered, possibly related to the Earth’s “sweating.” After the performance, the audience is encouraged to reflect together on the thoughts it provokes.

The performance will be seen on Arts Night on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 6 pm in Horninpuisto. The event also coincides with Baltic Sea Day, which aims to inspire people to enjoy our unique home sea and to take concrete actions and commitments for its benefit. The purpose of the day is also to increase knowledge about the diverse nature, culture, and history of the sea – and the environmental themes of Sweating Earth fit perfectly with that. Free entry!
