Children´s Saturday in Näkkäri, Dance Theatre Raatikko: Ding Dong!
Even the smallest voice can change the whole world.
Ding and Dong! is Dance Theatre Raatikko’s new touring piece, premiering in September 2026. It is a playful and warm dance theater performance where the world of sounds comes to life and creates movement.
Two sound builders, Ding and Dong, explore where sounds come from and where they disappear to. How are rhythm and music formed? How can a small ding or a big dong initiate a dance? Why do some sounds make us laugh and others make us tense? And how does the world feel when everything is completely silent?
However, not everything goes according to plan. Sounds escape, hide, and surprise. Ding and Dong have to listen carefully while searching for the lost sounds together with the audience. An auditory landscape is created with the audience by clapping, snapping, stomping, and vocalizing. Every sound is important.
Ding and Dong – Sound Ahead combines dance, music, and participatory play, inspiring to listen to the world with fresh ears.
NOTE! There are two performances of the same show on the same day, the first at 10:00 and the second at 13:00.
